"When we speak of nature in this way, we have a different, but deeply poetic sense. We refer to the integrity of the impression left by the many natural objects. It is this that distinguishes the logger’s trunk from the poet’s tree. The charming landscape I saw this morning is undoubtedly composed of twenty or thirty farms. Miller owns this field, Locke that one, and Manning the forest beyond. But none of them own the landscape. There is a property in the horizon that only belongs to the one whose gaze can integrate all the parts that is, the poet."
                     Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am Chilean, born and raised in Santiago. Since I was a child, I’ve found in contact with nature a space of calm, fulfillment, and spiritual growth. Life in the city makes it necessary to find that space a space we should never have lost, and one that, unfortunately, not everyone has the privilege of finding again.
That is why, with my work, I aim to bring people closer to nature, to the natural world; to share a sense of awe for wildlife and the wonders that can be found in this world, and to offer hope in a frantic world that increasingly seems darker.
I am convinced that there is still, and in abundance, beauty on this planet, and that it is worth celebrating. That is my choice: to celebrate life rather than give in to desolation and succumb to hopelessness.
I always seek to work with local guides, be respectful of my surroundings, and immerse myself deeply in the heart of the landscapes and territories I participate in, attempting to capture more than just images or portraits, but the emotion, the spirit, or the true beauty behind each animal or landscape.
